Summer 2020 Hygge in a Box

Hygge in a box is a cozy subscription box curated by two  Canadian  sisters Jill Kantor and Lisa Kroft.

If you’re not familiar with the hygge term, it is a Scandinavian term for cozy, comfortable and quaint. It’s all about creating a cozy environment around you to help you enjoy the little things in life. Hygge lifestyle is somewhat minimal but intentional. Candles, cozy blankets, books, fires, home cooked meals, mindfulness and family are some of the anchors of this Nordic way of life that many of us have adopted as well.

Hygge in a box is exactly that! All things hygge. All things to help you create a cozy home or room or even work space. Each season they curate a box filled with items to inspire you and elevate your coziness! In US $ the box is $87.22 with the current exchange, shipping is $20. You can use LUCIA10 for 10% off your first box!

When we hear the term Cozy we usually think  of fall and winter weather’s and that’s what most of the Nordic countries experience the majority ñ of the year. Hygge is mostly paired with those cold months, however there’s no reason why we can’t experience it during the summer months as well. And that’s what this box succeeded to create with their Summer edition.

Items we received in the Summer 2020 Hygge in a Box:

On top of the box there was a card with words from the curators and some tips on how to live this lifestyle during the summer; for example: Listen to music, dance like crazy, go berry picking, starting a new hobby, and more.

One of the elements of hygge like I mentioned before, is candles and soft lighting to create a nice ambience. In the summer box we received a beautiful candle in a glass jar by Campy scented “a long weekend”. It smelled incredible!

There were also two gorgeous greeting cards made by the amazing artist. See photo above!

We also received two recipe cards for a summer blueberry salad and a delicious barbecue pizza.

One item that really surprised me and I loved, is a Seaglass imitation soap that I thought was actual Seaglass at first. It came in a jar and it looks beautiful and it’s perfect for all year round. Made by Sealuxe.

I don’t know if they always include a snack but this time they included a bag of beautiful and delicious candy made by Papabubble in Toronto.

Other items included a hand sanitizer, a diy rose Quartz and lava stone bracelet that also included a yummy essential oil blend called Gratitude.

We also received, inside a beautiful box package, a lip care duo. Lip butter and lip scrub by Tilialime.

Abiding Citizens made a small batch bitters in lavender to include and cold cocktails or warm makings that I am so excited to try! Have you ever tried bitters?? Would love to hear your suggestions!

And last but not least a big hero item this season was a stunning Turkish towel! You can use it as a beach or chair towel, as a chawl, table or bed runner, so many ways!

I loved the Summer Hygge in a Box so much! The only thing it needed was some ice and an umbrella straw!

Do you get subscription boxes? Which ones?
